Corporate Center at International Plaza are premium Class A and LEED-certified office buildings located adjacent to the Tampa International Airport in Tampa, Florida.  The original facade lighting used high-pressure sodium (HPS) fixtures to highlight columns of top and mid-levels of the buildings, but fixtures were old and costly to maintain.  Although the fixture ballasts were located inside the buildings for simpler maintenance, replacing the bulbs still required building managers to rent cranes.  By the end of 2019, 70% of the facade fixtures did not light.  cBright Lighting teamed with AMPRO, a lighting and electrical service company headquartered in Tampa, Florida, to develop a solution to meet Cousins’ requirements. 

cBright selected 60W Luna RGBW fixtures with a 15-degree beam to replace 90W HPS fixtures.  To enhance the vibrancy of the colors produced, the fixtures were augmented with cPure, cBright’s latest color correction technology.  With cPure, each RGBW fixture is controlled with 6 DMX channels, with adjustable white from 2200K to 6500K CCT as well as full RGBW control.  With cPure, the fixtures can produce more vibrant colors with high saturation.

The lighting is controlled by two systems.  cBright’s DMX controller allows users to define and schedule custom color scenes.  cBright developed 15 scenes per Cousins's request, but they can create as many scenes as they desire.  The pre-developed scenes can also be triggered through the Master Panel web-access hardware and mobile app, allowing client to change lighting scenes anywhere and at any time. 

As a result of the retrofit, the Corporate Center is now equipped with façade lighting that not only illuminates and accentuates the buildings’ original design, but that can also seamlessly change colors to match holidays and other events, making them a landmark in the Tampa airport district.
