Uchi West Hollywood seamlessly blends Los Angeles modernism with Japanese aesthetics to create a multi-sensory dining experience. The lighting design takes inspiration from a traditional Japanese dry garden, where natural light plays across raked gravel, casting highlights and shadows that emphasize form and texture. Lighting plays a key role along the central Spine, establishing visual hierarchy and guiding movement while adding architectural depth. The project was honored with the LIT Design Award for Bar and Restaurant Lighting / Hospitality Lighting Design. cBright is proud to have contributed 20 custom alabaster-and-brass fixtures—IP65-rated for both indoor and outdoor use—that elegantly illuminate the planters throughout the space. These lights enhance the serene, Zen-like atmosphere and help bring the garden-inspired concept to life.
